All subdivision and land development plans must be submitted to the Pittston Township Planning Commission for review and recommendation prior to review and action by the Board of Supervisors. The primary purpose of the review is to ascertain that all requirements of the zoning and subdivision/land development ordinances have been met.

The Planning Commission considers the reviews and recommendations of the municipal engineer and the Luzerne County Planning Commission. The Commission will also determine that the subdivision or land development plan is in conformance with the goals and objectives stated in the Comprehensive Plan. After review, the Commission will recommend an action to the Board of Supervisors. All plans require approval from the Supervisors prior to being recorded at the Luzerne County Courthouse.

  Commission Meetings

  Monthly meeting dates for the Pittston Township Planning Commission will be if necesary the first Thursday of each month in 2009 at the Municipal Building, 421 Broad Street, Pittston, Pa at 7:00 PM unless that day is a Holiday in which case the meeting will take place on the next day at 6:30 PM. The monthly regularly scheduled meeting dates for 2009 are:

  Applicant is responsible for all fees to other governing agencies having jurisdiction over the submission.
