The Sewer Authority of Pittston Township (The Authority) was incorporated in 1966 under the Munciipality Authorities Act of 1945 P.L. 382 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township.

The Authority was formed to acquire, construct, improve and maintain a collection facility which constitutes the sewer system situated in the Township.

A yearly fee of $10 is charged to RESIDENTIAL users per equivalent dwelling unit (EDU) and COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS are billed on a usage basis. There is a one-time tap in fee for new customers.

The Authority appointed the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority as its billing and collection agent. RESIDENTIAL customers are billed on an annual basis and COMMERCIAL customers are billed quarterly.

Revenues generated from the sewer maintenance billing is  used to defray costs of maintaining, improving and expanding the sewer system.

In accordance with the Open Records Act, audited financial statements are available upon request.
